Having dined at 801 Fish multiple times, I can confidently say it's the best high-end seafood experience in St. Louis. Every visit is a masterclass in quality, service, and attention to detail, making it the go-to spot for anyone who appreciates fresh seafood and a refined atmosphere. The caviar and oysters are a staple on the menu, and the 801 Signature Oysters are nothing short of spectacular--large, flavorful, and always impeccably fresh. Their wine list is packed with incredible finds, making it easy to pair the perfect bottle with your meal. The Chilean seabass is one of my personal favorites--flaky, buttery, and cooked to perfection. The scallops? Absolutely insane, with a perfect sear and a rich, delicate flavor. One of the latest menu additions, a crudo with green apple and fresh jalapeños, is a must-try--bright, fresh, and packed with bold flavors. For those craving a steak, don't hesitate--they grill them just as flawlessly as their sister restaurant, 801 Chophouse across the street. On our most recent visit, we had a stag night with the guys, and the staff went above and beyond to make the evening special. We kicked things off with a massive seafood tower and Beluga caviar, washed down with bottles of champagne. To finish, port and bread pudding provided the perfect ending to an incredible meal. The service was top-tier--attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaged, making us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in world-class seafood, 801 Fish is an absolute must-visit.

The ahi tuna tartare was amazing. I loved the Onaga snapper as well. Brussels and lobster fried rice were to die for Our server was super informative. Best meal I've had in years!

Located by the university, it's a cool area. It's like another downtown area and driving in, there are beautiful homes in the surrounding area. It's a bit challenging to park but I found a spot and headed into the bar. After a quick round, we headed to the dining room. Tables were spaced so you could have table conversation and there were lots of things to try on the menu. I should have stuck with seafood, because my pasta was a little overcooked. But all in all, I think this was a great place and service was great.

Celebrate our two year anniversary here in December and it was amazing. We started with cocktails- the grapefruit one was incredible and made me feel like I was on an island. The oysters were so fresh and tasty. Special shoutout to the lobster fried rice and bisque as well. We also got a steak which was just as good as 801 chop. Will definitely come back! Also- the place is stunning and feels like you're underwater.

Went for a friend's birthday with a party of 8. The oyster bar area is a nice touch to the look. I had the Cioppino which I had never had before but was awesome especially the Barramundi. Birthday boy had a filet mignon w lobster tail addition which looked great. The Rockefellers were amazing. Would order more next time. Didn't get to taste the scallops but they looked perfect. The restaurant gifted the birthday boy with a cheesecake which I got a bite of. It was great. I was disappointed in the lobster Mac n cheese as it was bland. The cold fashioned was good and the cube had a fish imprinted on it, nice touch. Our waitress was the perfect blend of attentiveness but also giving our party space to enjoy the food, drinks and company.

I appreciated the interior design and the roominess of the booths. We were a party of 4. I'm pescatarian, so the menu had a rich variety of both fish and seafood options. Even my teenage children, who are not fish eaters, found meat options to enjoy with french fries/frites. The plating was thoughtful. Visually compelling. And the portions were fair, if not generous. The food is expensive, but I felt like I was paying for more than a "taste." And the prices are comparable to what you would expect in Clayton. The manager was our server, and did a good job explaining our options. And I received a free dessert because it was a birthday dinner. A very positive experience.

Came here on a Friday night around 5:30 and it wasn't full at all. They have tons of seats, great service, huge area so unless they are slammed you'll get a nice private dinner without too many people around. Food was awesome, we ordered a few apps and 2 main courses. Fish was cooked beautifully and seasoned well. A little pricey but I would guess that's from them flying in fresh fish everyday.

801 Fish blew us away. The food was delectable, the atmosphere was chic and luxurious, and the service was super friendly and attentive. Here's what we tried: Fresh East Coast Oysters: 9/10 - Tried 6 different ones. You really can't go wrong. Super fresh and taste like the sea. Came with a wonderful mignonette. Tuna Tartare: 7.5/10 - I loved the fact that there was spicy mayo on it, as it added flavor and kick, the only thing is that aesthetically I'm not sure the ring is the best way to plate this. I would also hope for the tuna to be a little bit more chunky rather than pasty. Lobster Mac: 10/10 - The choice of cheese here was perfection, and the lobster chunks came through with flavor. Such a rich side, and absolutely incredible. A showstopper for sure. Sea Bass: 9/10 - The fish was cooked to perfection, with a paper thin, crispy skin and flaky soft inside. The mushrooms and black garlic added an awesome umami while the kimchi added a vinegariness that cut through in just the right away. Scallops: 10/10 - Melted in the mouth, tasted like butter. I just had a few bites and was still in awe. Wow. Hazelnut Mousse: 11/10 - Somehow, the pairing of the hazelnut flavor with the hard, smooth texture was mind blowing. We LOVED it. While it was hard to cut through with a spoon, the work was worth it. The hazelnut flavor is light yet prominent, and the whipped topping is a perfect airy contrast to the denser mousse below. Flourless Chocolate Cake: 9/10 - So rich, so chocolatey, so divine. Nearly perfect chocolate cake, and beyond fudgy. If you like chocolate, you will love this. The esspresso cream was a fun add as well. SUPER great option for a splurge night out, when you want to be fancy and eat good.

We dined here for the first time for a romantic dinner. We were pleasantly surprised! The ambiance was very nice and comfortable. The dining room was very spacious and decorated in a charming way. Our wait staff was impeccable in every way. He was knew the menu very well and explained how the entrees were prepared. He made us feel so welcome and pampered. My entree was the alaskan halibut, which was very moist and tender with a bunch of flavor. The flash fried brussel sprouts were delicious as well as the the lobster fried rice. I had a negroni, which was delicious as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. There is the big ticket factor, however, we will return.
